Welcome Aquilonian! Time to pug t3!

posted by: Wood

Rules and regulations are found below the signups! Please read it!

This is a pug, I don't know the majority of those of you joining, but in order to succeed I've got to have certain rules.. But read the stuff below! I think we all can agree that it's the most fun when bosses go down, so please take the time!

To make it less of a hassle to do this I've also created this signup so that it's faster to get started and less work for me, this requires that all who signed up show up on time. Those who don't misses the next raid.

This pug will not go on forever, it's mostly done to learn a lot of new players how to do the bosses so that these in a while can start pugs on their own resulting in a more active and enjoyable server when it comes to pug raiding.

Next raid: ------> NEXT RAID IS NOT SET!

Invites at 22.00 cet, Start at 22.20 - 22.30 cet

I'm aware that since there's no registration to enter this signup we might have some "fun" signups, but well, let's hope we dont' get too many of them.

Name:

Exact character name (Will be used when inviting) Please write your characters name, it's hard to invite you if not! :)

Class: please set your class Specc: Please set your spec Gear:

Quite a few ask me why I haven't added Khitai gear to this option, since Khitai gear, and especially the rank 4 gear is superior to any tier gear in many regards. But by adding only old world options here I get an estimate of your raiding experience, which actually is more important than gear. A player that has full tiered sets as an example will know how to work his/hers character in raids, while the lesser geared players will often lack the experience. In particular with the class.

That said, I'm not completely excluding the lesser geared characters here, but most often I will pick a tiered equipped player over a non tiered player. I've also added the option to chose "Full faction gear", but again, I don't regard this as a guarantee of raiding experience. It is of course highly favoured over blues though.

Please set your gear

Currently signed characters:

Please keep in mind that a raid can maximum hold 24 players, so if we've got more signed, naturally some will be left out. As this is a pug, with no dkp involved it will most guaranteed be some that gets to raid more than others and I will under no circumstance reach for a "fair" rotation on whom get's to join.
This raid is mostly for fun and laughs and will also be treated as such from my end. And fun and laughs most often is brought forward by a successfull raid. That said, I don't know most of you so for most classes it's first come, first served. This is no set rule though, I might choose characters I know work in certain roles over completely, to me, unknown players.

I'll try to confirm the raid the night before the raid. If you're picked please be sure to be ready when raid signups happen! If you've signed up and realize that you can't come, please send a tell to Wood ingame, or make a second signup here with your characters name followed by _unsigned, wood_unsigned as an example if I earlier signed up with Wood.

Currently 7 signed characters.

Rules and regulations

Wall of text, I know..
But it's worth a read! It's the basics and do's and dont's of this pug.

All forms of communication is to be done on English. This isn't the native language for most players in Hyboria so don't make fun of those who doesn't master the language completely. It's way better that people try to communicate than not trying at all.

Make sure you are attuned to tier 3 before attending! If uncertain how to do this, please read this post from the official forums.

Always come prepared. This means come in the expected spec! T3 is hard, much harder than tier 1 and tier 2, and I regard a soldier being a tank and a healer being a healer. It's no crisis if you are in the wrong spec (Be it dps or pvp), but let me know when you sign up if you're in a off spec when it comes to pve.

If you've signed up it's anticipated that you also show up on time when raid is about to start! Inviting to pugs is a painstaking affair and takes time, but please don't make this any harder by showing up late. The goal is always to start at preset time. Failing to show up on time will lessen your chances to be picked for the next raid.

Pots and food, always! Make sure you've got enough pots to last you through the raid. 4 hours food is also the preferred meal. Again, it's hard and everything helps.

Pug etiquette. Aquilonia is a pvp server as well and it's natural that some people hold personal grudges on other players or guilds. I ask that everybody let these go for the duration of the raid, fight it out in the rest of the world, but leave this pug alone for your drama. I also do not allow unneccassary cursing or overly leet language. Or like I say to my guildies; "Curse your hearts out, but be inventive about it!"

Dps meters Sucess in t3 is not relative to having extremely high dps. It's all about control, and tanks need to swap aggro between themselves. This means that dps are not to pull aggro, at all, as then the tanks will need to use their aggro abilities to pull it off dps instead of rotating it with the other tanks, which is the way to go. Dps meters tend to bring out the "worst" in people in terms of dps so no dps meters are allowed to be linked, ever. I don't care whom does the most as long as the bosses go down.

There's more ways to Rome than one, meaning that even though you know other ways of doing the bosses, leave it to the raid leader to decide the tactic. Exalted clears the entire instance every week, but this doesn't mean that all tactics we use are the most optimal ones, but they work. So always listen to the raid leader.

Gear, Some spots are more gear dependant than others, but it's requested that you bring a decent geared character. This also ensures that you know your class, as it shows time has been spent on it.

All tactics will be explained on ventrilo pre bossfigth, but if you are a bit uncertain about your role, please ask! One char can easily wipe the entire raid, so rather ask once too often than one too few. Ventrilo information will be given in raid chat.

We might have loads signed, we might just about have enough, or we even might have too few, who knows. But I will pick the raid based on what I think will bring the highest sucessrate. This includes having a gear requirement in this pug, at the moment this is sat to at least having full t1. This ensures that the entire raid have enough class knowledge to deal with the encounters in tier 3.
Exalted alts is a large role in this, so I will never leave an Exalted out, though the gear requirement also includes Exalted members. Other than that there's no priority lists in this pug and loot is always based on need, greed or pass. Make sure you don't need on class specific items, like urns, other than your own class. I've got no tolerance for such and ninja's will not be allowed in a second raid and will naturally be kicked instantly from the raid.

If you signed up, but didn't show up when raid started I will not pick you for the next raid unless we are short on signups. This "blacklist" will be removed from the site, though not my notes ;), after the next raid.

Thanks for joining and have fun!
Wood

Vosiler
Added many random names to these signups several weeks in a row. Probably with the intention of messing up my pugs here. The names were both active and inactive names so it was rather obvious that it was only done to be annoying.
He probably didn't think about his ip address being firmly stamped both here and on the Exalted forums though so to find out who the joker was was rather simple. And it's easy to remove these duplicate ip signups, so he didn't succeed much in terms of annoying me, but it was annoying to the clueless active players he signed up.This as they didn't want to get into trouble for not showing up for the raid when they had "signed up".

Good going Vosiler! Way to make a fool out of yourself! /facepalm
